Who was Lewis Carroll?

Well, I did my research. Here's what I could dig up.

Lewis Carroll was actually Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, born 1832 & died 1898. Among many things he was an author, clergyman, mathematician, and photographer. The man himself has been described as attractive with a slight stammer. Unlike many famous writers Dodgson actually did well in society & was good at charades, etc. While he wrote quite a few books his most famous are Alice and it's sequel. Knowing this you wouldn't think him the type to write such nonsense books, but any thing's possible.

Through the Looking Glass (the sequel)

Not only did Lewis Carroll write the incredibly famous Alice in Wonderland, he also wrote a sequel Through the Looking Glass. It's taken some time with homework, but I finally finished the book. This time around Alice gets a little too curious of the room on the other side of the mirror and ends up stumbling inside. Once there, she finds a world practically bursting with nonsense. Books can only be read in mirrors, Humpty Dumpty refuses to believe he may fall, & in the backyard a large scale chess game is being played. After being initiated into the game as a pawn Alice moves from square to square meeting new friends? along the way. The book is written much like the original & is completely insane. But isn't that what pulls us all back to Wonderland?

Tim Burton's New Movie

How exciting! After about 50 years from the last (decent) Alice in Wonderland movie Tim Burton has decided to come out with his own. The movie is even going to be distributed by Disney! I have heard that it is filmed in live action, motion capture (computer graphics of real performances), AND stop motion. Along with a cast of Anne Hathaway, Johnny Depp, and many more the movie is likely to be quite good. Let's see how Burton can give a spin on the old story.

What in the World Was the Point of That Tale?

I'm really not sure what to think about Alice in Wonderland. While it was really interesting I never actually noticed a plot. To me, the book mainly seemed to be about Alice trying to get out of Wonderland. This large plot was disguised by the many different queer things that happened to her on her way. Of course, these were what made the story all the more interesting for the reader. I hope that I have gained something from this story, but like I can't quite be sure. ;-)
