Upon reaching the house Alice finds the footman stationed there no more able to enter than herself. Inside there is an awful ruckus which would drown out any knocking. Very much annoyed Alice enters the house by herself for the door is unlocked and finds there a cook making soup, a smiling cat (the Chesire cat) and a duchess nursing her baby. While this should have been a rather peaceful scene, the duchess ruins it shouting "Pig" and other such things at her baby (not to mention a couple of rude remarks to Alice) while the cook throws pans around the room making the place an absolute nightmare to be in. After a while (enough time to sing a song about beating her child) the duchess departs to go play croquet with the queen. Left with the baby Alice leaves the house and has it turn into a pig which she quickly releases into the wild. Continuing on (now baby-less) she finds the Chesire cat who she has a very confusing conversation with about madness. In the end all Alice really learns is that the Mad Hatter is on the right and the March Hare is on the left. Hoping that he won't be quite as mad considering it is currently May, Alice decides to visit the Hare.
